Acetylcysteine

It is important that the medication be given as soon as possible after exposure to the poison.

Solution can be provided in various concentrations, and a typical dose is 3mg/kg to 10mg/kg orally 5 times daily for 10 days.

When used IV it can cause acute renal insufficiency. This can be prevented by slow IV administration.
